Cloud computing can help you quickly test new products and services, seamlessly sift through huge amounts of data, manage teams and customer pipelines, and market to your customers in new ways.
It’s not just the big guys that have realized this opportunity: Seventy-six percent of small businesses said that “cloud services were critical to the survival and operation of their business” during the pandemic, according to a survey by the SBE Council.
But as all businesses know, it takes a few tries before figuring out how a piece of software fits in and benefits the business to the best of its ability.
In 2021, you can build and test products quickly in the cloud, faster than ever
Many years ago, I was in charge of getting the IT side of the business started for a new venture — and at the top of the list was getting a server to run all our systems and data. That meant providing server specifications, choosing a vendor, placing the order and paying $10,000 for it.
Of course, it wouldn’t arrive immediately. We had to wait for a couple of weeks for delivery.
The world moved on.
With just your email and zero money down, you can get a server and storage with a few clicks. Notably, one healthcare company recently used technology to quickly build a new Covid-19 test site finder while unifying it with older search products. It already had ways for customers to find doctors, clinics, hospitals, etc. — but all its search channels were disconnected until they incorporated a new cloud-based solution.
Ten years ago, a solution that addressed these problems so quickly would have been impossible. Today you can build, test and unify new products on the cloud in a matter of days.
Companies can use the cloud to quickly engage in digital transformation and overcome old challenges
Let’s go from theory to some practical examples.
Do you need to scale quickly for key events in a year in which we anticipate a spike in data usage or processing demand? If so, plug-and-play cloud-based services could help.
Are your landing pages converting? Test them with machine learning platforms.
Determine how you will measure progress. Then, when you’re ready, the tools that can help you scale up in the cloud quickly are there to help you to transform your business.
